I love the adventure of travel.

Back in May I was in Wendover which is on the Utah/Nevada border. While most people will not leave the main street which has the motels and casinos, I rather look around the town and see what I can find.

The city is home to a former air base that was used to train the pilots who would drop the atomic bombs on Japan. Today the airbase sees limited air service and has limited tourist attractions. Several of the former base buildings are now have other uses.

While driving around the former base I encountered this old truck sitting next to one of the former base buildings. I love finding old vehicles like this that probably have some interesting stories to tell.

While finding old rusting vehicles may not be that uncommon, finding a old work truck like this is.

Never know what you may find when you get off the main road...

The Westward Ho

Here is another picture form the same trip as the previous entry and you will notice that once again it was raining.

Since we knew that the Westward Ho was scheduled to be closed in just a couple of weeks I stopped to get a picture of the marque sign on the way to the airport.

Maybe the rain fit with the reason for taking the picture in the first place.

Yes it does rain in Las Vegas!!

My family used to have an annual family reunion in Las Vegas during the Columbus Day weekend. However, the temperature that weekend was pretty hot so after my father passed away we changed a date to a couple of weeks later.

Well it was much cooler but then again it rained almost the whole weekend. This picture was taken from the third level of one of the hotel parking garages looking south toward one of the new towers going up at the MGM Grand.
