The Last Interurban
The South Shore is the last true Interurban train in the United States and runs from Chicago to South Bend, Indiana. The train is shown here crossing the tracks of Amtrak's Michigan service before heading down the middle of 11st Street.

Flying through New Lenox on a sad morning
A Chicago Metra commuter train on the Rock Island line flies through New Lenox outbound on its way to Joliet at sunrise. It was a sad morning waking up to the news of the Las Vegas tragedy that happened the night before.

Phallic Water Tower
The Phallic Water Tower in Ypsilanti, Michigan sits across the street from the south side of Eastern Michigan University. There is a legend that if a girl ever graduates from the school a virgin the tower will crumble.

Endangered Church at Sunset
Voted one of Iowa's most endangered buildings for 2017, the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Waterloo glistens in the light at sunset. The church has some series deferred maintenance issues and the pastor of the church is using is pension to keep the building up the best he can. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Dunsmore House in Waterloo, Iowa
One of Waterloo, Iowa's most endangered buildings, the Dunsmore House is the oldest Limestone building in the city and possibly the third oldest building in the city (built in 1866).

Economic Development Gone Bad
The Waterloo, Iowa Greyhound Park. Greyhound racing was the great economic tool of the late 1980's to early 1990's but many of the tracks did not last long. This one has been embroiled in legal issues for years but it may soon be demolished.
